정재광은 국내 유수의 영화제에서 연기력을 인정받은 유망주다. 2016년 서울독립영화제에서 독립영화 <수난이대>로 ‘독립스타상’을 수상하며 업계 관계자들의 시선을 단번에 사로잡았다. 이어 2021년 영화 <낫아웃>을 통해 전주국제영화제에서 ‘배우상’을 수상하는 쾌거를 이루며 차세대 ‘충무로 기대주’로 부상했다.

2015년 영화 <스타우팅 리포트>로 데뷔 이후 다수의 독립 영화에 출연하며 인상적인 연기와 존재감으로 이목을 집중시킨 정재광은 이후 드라마 <구해줘>(2019), <사이코지만 괜찮아>(2020), <알고있지만>(2021), <구필수는 없다>(2022), 영화 <버티고>(2019) 등 차근차근 자신만의 필모그래피를 쌓아왔다.

특히, 그는 영화 <낫아웃> 속 열아홉 야구 유망주 ‘광호’ 역을 소화하기 위해 체증 증량과 훈련을 불사하며 실제 야구선수를 방불케 하는 리얼한 모습을 완성했다. 여기에 꿈을 좇아 위험한 선택을 하는 인물의 내면을 심도 있게 표현해낸 열연으로 뜨거운 호평을 불러일으켰다.

그외에도 드라마 <어쩌다 마주친, 그대>(2023), 영화 <범죄도시2>(2022), <화란>(2023) 등에서 활약하며 대중의 마음을 파고들었다. 무엇보다 최근 <화란>에서 조직의 일원인 ‘승무’ 역으로 사투리 연기는 물론 액션까지 소화하며 강렬한 인상을 남기는데 성공했다.

Jaegwang Jeong is a rising star whose acting has been recognized in both domestic and international film festivals. In 2016, at the Seoul Independent Film Festival, he was awarded with the ‘Independent Star Prize’ for his acting in the independent film <Blood and Bones>, which mesmerized those related to the film industry. In 2021, his movie <NOT OUT> led him to receive ‘the Actor Prize’ at the JEONJU International Film Festival. This raised awareness of the actor as the next-generation ‘rising star’ of Chungmuro.

After his debut with the movie <Scouting report> in 2015, Jaegwang Jeong appeared in many independent movies and attracted audience with impressive acting and presence. Since then, he has developed his own filmography through TV dramas including <Nevertheless>(2019), <t's Okay to Not Be Okay>(2020) and <SAVE ME>(2021), <There is no Goo Pil Soo>(2022), and movies like <Vertigo>(2019).

Especially, for his movie <NOT OUT>, in order to play ‘Gwangho’, the 19-year-old baseball prospect, he increased body weight and kept on practicing to provide and complete the sense of reality of actual baseball players. Additionally, his passionate acting resulting in in-depth psychological reflection of a person who makes a dangerous decision in pursuit of his dream brought about surprisingly favorable reviews.

Jung also appeared in the TV series <My Perfect Stranger>(2023) and the movies <The Roundup>(2022) and <Hwaran>(2023), stealing the public’s hearts. Most recently in <Hwaran>, he played Seung-mu, a member of a criminal organization, successfully leaving a solid impression on the moviegoers with his dialects and actions.
