2004년 연극 <갈매기>

임철수는 2004년 연극 <갈매기>로 연기를 시작, 이후 연극 <올모스트 메인>, <유도소년>, 등 무대에서 활약을 이어갔다.

2006년 영화 <꿈꾸는 백수 임철수>를 시작으로 드라마 <응답하라 1988>(2015), <미스터 션샤인>(2018), <친애하는 판사님께>(2018), 영화 <순정>(2016), <대배우>(2016), <타겟>(2023) 등 무대는 물론 스크린, 브라운관을 막론하고 다채로운 행보를 펼쳤다.

특히 2020년 드라마 <사랑의 불시착>에서 생명보험사 직원 ‘박수찬’ 역을 통해 생계형 직장인을 현실적으로 그려내며 사람들의 시선을 집중시켰다. 이어 드라마 <빈센조>(2021) 속 대외안보 정보원 ‘안기석’ 역을 맡아 블랙코미디 장르에 안성맞춤 연기를 선보이며 新 믿.보.배로 떠올랐다.

이후 드라마 <보이스4>(2021), <환혼>(2022), <오늘의 웹툰>(2022) 등의 작품 속에서 시청자들의 눈길을 단번에 사로잡는 신스틸러로 확실한 눈도장을 찍었다.

앞으로도 계속될 ‘천의 얼굴’ 임철수의 활약이 기대된다.

Cheolsoo Lim started his career by taking part in a play titled The Seagull, followed by <Almost Main>, <Judo Boy> and <Q>.

Starting from the movie <A Lucky Dream> in 2006, he showed diverse activities in the movies <Unforgettable>(2016) and <The Great Actor>(2016), <Don't Buy the Seller>(2023), and the dramas <Reply 1988>(2015), <Mr. Sunshine>(2018) and <Your Honor>(2018). Like this, he presented various activities on the screen and on TV both without ceasing.

Especially, he attracted many people by acting a salaried man who had been driven to the market just for livelihood by playing ‘Suchan Park’, a life insurance consultant in the soap opera titled <Crash Landing on you> in 2020. He continued his acting by taking the part of a national security agent in the drama named <Vincenzo>(2021). Here, he played just right and became an actor who would be chosen by his name only. His acting combines an exquisite and detailed personality and his own breath in real life. His acting has been more than enough to prove his wide play spectrum regardless of genres and characters.

Since then, Im has appeared in TV series such as <Voice Season 4>(2021), <Alchemy of Souls>(2022), and <Today’s Webtoon>(2022), where he stood out as a scene stealer and immediately captured the viewers’ attention.
